Never "e" before "i" except after "c"
Comparer: "conceive", and "piece".
Nota: Irish has a similar rule, as whenever "i" and "e" are used to soften a consonnant, the "i" is always before, and the "e" after. The "e" never appears before a consonnant, but the "i" can if there are two consecutive consonnants to soften...: compare ceangailteach, goile, coisithe, reiligiún, but aer.

I before E, except after C.
And "weird" is just weird.

The following mnemonic is used by pilots:
If temperature or pressure drops, you will be lower (in altitude) than the aircraft's instruments suggest if they are left uncorrected.
